MOUNTAIN BIKING: Elk Chase #1 (surveyor Park Tr)

← WY HAMS FORK POLE CREEK NEAR FRONTIER WY Single Tracks →

Description

This trail used to be part of the White Pine downhill mountain biking trails. You will see blue diamonds posted throughout the trail. It is an old pack trail, it starts out going gradual uphill through trees with a rocky trail into a large park, the trail continues to go left (east) towards the wilderness boundary, you will come to fence post at the top of the hill go right if you want to do the steeper trail (elk chase #2) if not continue on the main trail, it will weave around some meadows up to the left, there is some deadfall and a bog to ride around. The trail is a little overgrown in some sections. Once you cross the bog you will ride into the trees and the trail gets smoother, wider, and more well worn. You will get to a fork, there is a trail sign that points to the left (better trail) GO RIGHT towards the less worn trail, you will find yourself on a downhill trail that looks like an old road, that has nice whoops and zigs zags down the mountain. There are several trees that haven fallen across so be alert. When you get to the bottom, you will cross another small bog and be at the bottom of the ski area and will follow a two-track out and come out at the charilift.
